Cedarville University's Dr. Trent Rogers and Dr. Jon Wood are on a mission to do just that...help more young adults get Rooted In Truth. In a world of rapid change and growing uncertainty, their new book "Rooted In Truth" is a valuable resource to anchor high school graduates and college students in something unchanging — the truth of Scripture. But here's what I found...This is a great "playbook" for all of us:) Rooted in Truth” is a practical, theologically rich resource to help us navigate questions of faith, identity and purpose through a biblical lens. Dr. Jon Wood is Cedarville University's Vice President For Student Life and Christian Ministries. Dr. Trent Rogers is Cedarville University's Dean of The School of Biblical and Theological Studies. Together they draw from years of mentoring students. Their experience walking alongside young adults inspired a work that blends biblical wisdom with relatable, real-life application. Also, they're just super Good Stuff/God Stuff Dudes!:) I really enjoyed this interview and think you will too.

Words matter. Ask Jeremy Watson. He is an author, poet and spoken word artist who is digging deep to inspire so MANY with a powerful medium that’s getting noticed and appreciated on a bigger scale than maybe he even imagined. But. God. Today's episode: Purpose. Even in pain from the past. "What feeds my soul is knowing the boy I was towing through the years His tears were not in vain And the pain he maintained could no longer reign in this mental kingdom sustained by the renewing of my mind Young boy, we fully surrendered this time By owning all those experiences as mine and despite the trauma, young Jeremy, we turned out fine We didn’t need a near death experience to have a near God experience to prove the depth of my resilience and perseverance that is emboldened in my existence despite the resistance found in trauma’s persistence What feeds my soul is when I review my journey and the pages that make up my story I can stand before you today, full and proudly proclaiming, to God be all the glory." There is so MUCH wisdom, guidance and hope we can take personally from the vulnerable insight in Jeremy's "What Feeds My Soul" that we're finding new Divine Design insight each time we hear him recite it. It's Jeremy's Story For His Glory that's lifting us all up along the way. Welcome to Part 4, the final part of this interview, as we continue to break up this poem into snackable pieces of food for thought with insight and reflection from author Jeremy Watson.

He is an author, poet and spoken word artist who is digging deep to inspire so MANY with a powerful medium that’s getting noticed and appreciated on a bigger scale than maybe he even imagined. But. God. Today's episode: " God has begun to show me in REAL TIME...TODAY...that I can use my TESTIMONY in my art to help free other people to help spread the gospel of Jesus Christ and to show people that, yes, I was once stuck. Yes, my heart was hard. I had been through some hard things in my life. BUT. GOD. He can transform your heart just as He has for me." Show of hands. Who can relate to that? Whose heart is hungry to hear the HOPE out of things that weigh down our hearts from our past? Who needs to hear "Things we didn't get to choose as a child, we get to choose how they affect us today." There is so MUCH wisdom, guidance and hope we can take personally from the vulnerable insight in Jeremy's "What Feeds My Soul" that we're finding new Divine Design insight each time we hear him recite it. It's Jeremy's Story For His Glory that's lifting us all up along the way. God. Today's episode is about how Jeremy knows now "The trials that seemed to rob a boy of choice...Were the TOOLS needed to equip this man WITH A VOICE." Who else needs to hear this perspective? (raising my hand over here:) "Life didn't give me ACRIMONY...It equipped me with TESTIMONY" There is so MUCH wisdom guidance and hope you can take personally from the vulnerable insight in Jeremy's "What Feeds My Soul" that we're finding new Divine Design insight each time we hear him recite it. Saanvi Mylavarapu is an 18-year-old youth advocate, especially in the realm of mental health, an environmental change maker, and an incoming neuroscience freshman at Emory University. Her journey, though rooted in science, is deeply spiritual…led by faith, a connection to nature, and a calling to make this world better for the next generation. She believes dirt under your nails is a badge of healing, and faith in action means fighting for the planet and its people. What began as a childhood love for trees and trails turned into Project Nature Worthy, a national youth-led movement focused on how time in nature heals our brains, especially those struggling with mental health challenges, grief, or trauma. Saanvi has hiked more than 1,000 miles across national parks, often with her mom by her side collecting not just memories but mission. From backpacking across national parks to pushing for policy change on Capitol Hill, Saanvi says it’s never been about media. It’s always been about meaning. That even the youngest voices can carry God’s light.

Pat Joyce Memorial 5K: Long QT, Prevention & Awareness Without any symptoms or warning, 18-year old Pat “Peanut” Joyce, a freshman at University of Kentucky passed away in his sleep from “Long QT Syndrome”. It’s a story that started in unthinkable tragedy and loss and led to other lives saved. Prevention is power and Peanut’s legacy is Hope. The 14th Annual Patrick Joyce Scholarship Fund 5K in Cleveland OH is bigger than the Joyce Family. It’s Family by blood and beyond. A huge network of friends growing in a common shared HOPE to prevent other families from having to walk through this grief. The Good Stuff out of the grief. It’s legacy that lives on beyond Pat’s last breath. Because they KNOW… We’re Better Together.

June 1st is officially National Cancer Survivors Day. So we're taking the opportunity to share Timmy Tusick's Survivor Story. The truth is, we're inspired by him every day. Why? Because Grit, Gratitude and God's Grace were a huge part of his recovery regimen out of a grim leukemia diagnosis at just 19-years-old. Timmy's story is inspiration for all of us who need a nudge to just. keep. taking. the. next. best. step. Like all Good Stuff stories, we find several layers of Good Stuff/God Stuff along the way. Scratch the surface of the Timmy Tusick story, and there is Pat Dunlap. Pat is the University Hospitals Environmental Services team member at Seidman Cancer Center in Cleveland who is as much a part of Timmy's recovery as anyone in a white coat with a bunch of letters after their names. One of my all time favorite stories. Warrioring through cancer or not, here's inspiration for each of us how God Equips the CALLED beyond our careers. All He needs is a 'Yes'.

Today is the official day to honor RHIZO kids and their families. The Good Stuff Family celebrates them everyday. Why? Because they remind us Hope. Is. Everything. The rare and terminal disorder Rhizomelic Chondrodysplasia Punctata (RCDP) affects 1 in every 100,000 live births worldwide, and a 5-year-old child is considered a long-term survivor. Within the diagnosis and treatment is an unwavering hope towards and work for a cure. In this podcast you’ll meet baby Lakelynn, just diagnosed a RHIZO kid and Jake and Jordyn Cirner beating all the odds doctor’s predicted. Jakester, in fact, is about to turn 23. Doctor’s told his parents he wouldn’t see 5. For our Ohio friends… A super fun opportunity to help in the fight for a cure is Roaring For Rhizokids Night At The Races. There is a growing movement getting answers on what it looks like to live well in menopause. To lay bare misinformation masquerading as truth for too many years and to really understand what it means to now navigate through what is clearly no longer our mamma's menopause. More and more conversations among medical circles and patients are dismantling some of the dogma of days gone by. Dr. Victoria Mondloch, author of "Full Bloom" and Dr. Melissa Crawford, wellness mentor and inner work guide who is offering women "Another Way To Heal" are our guests on this episode of The Good Stuff Family podcast. So grateful for their insight. Because, of all the things we don't understand, of this much we're sure...We're Better Together, especially when tackling the hard stuff.

We grew up together. Pretty much as far back as I can remember, there was Kathy Oswald (now Hilgart) as my sister friend in crime. Right through every stage of life. Now it's menopause. Ugh. In a blink here we are. Feeling bad we laughed every time our mom's said "Is it HOT in here???" And 'Feeling Bad' in general some days. Physically. Mentally. Emotionally. Because, not so fun fact of life: Our hormones skip out long before we're done with them and long before we're finished living healthy, productive lives. In Kath's case, a severe hormone deficiency nearly COST her her life. But there is HOPE. For her, it came in the form of Menopausal Hormone Therapy. Maybe you've heard it referred to as Hormone Replacement Therapy, or HRT. It's not for everyone, but for Kath it was a life saver. This is her raw, vulnerable story of her journey through what she calls hell and back. Through it all, when her hormones took a hike, she felt God never left her side. Showed up, she says, in the form of family and friends who stood on faith and in a doctor who took the time to listen. Her hope is that God can use her story for His glory. Are you in the middle of menopause or love someone who is? This story is for you. This, is the Kathy Hilgart story.
